The Media Advertising Club of Chicago would like to remember some dear friends of the media community we lost in 2011.
Leslie Schwartz 1/16/11
Leslie Schwartz, nee Feingold, age 57; beloved wife of Mark; loving mother of Robert; caring sister of Susan (Douglas) Feingold Carlson; sister-in-law of Myra Schwartz; devoted daughter of Eugene and Rosalind Feingold; daughter-in-law of Faye Schwartz and the late Raymond Schwartz; proud and loving aunt of David and Elizabeth Carlson; fond niece, cousin, friend and colleague to so many who loved her dearly and will miss her very much. At the time of her death, she was a Senior Partner at Group M Media. She was a graduate of Munster High School and Miami (Ohio) University. To those who loved her and those with whom she crossed paths, she was a thoughtful, generous, understanding, helpful and knowledgeable person who would be the first to consider the needs of her family, friends, and associates before her own.
Linda Lyke 2/27/11
Linda Lyke, 58, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, passed away suddenly February 27, 2011 at home.  Born in Evergreen Park, IL, she moved to New Smyrna Beach, FL, from Northbrook, IL in 1995.
In Chicago she worked at Blair Television as an assistant before moving into an account executive position at WCFL-AM.  She joined WLS-AM, and after several years, became the first female account executive at Blair Radio.  She then moved to WDAI-FM and WLUP-FM, where she was General Sales Manager for many years.  While at WLUP-FM she attended the Wharton School of Business.  Her next career move was back to WLS AM/FM as NTR director, and then to WNUA-FM.  Wherever she worked, she brought her wonderful smile, her kind heart, and her professionalism, striving to do the best she could for her clients and the radio stations.  She mentored many new sales people, who would go on to have very successful careers in the industry.  While always thinking of others, she lived life to the fullest.
A celebration of Linda Lyke’s life will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Butch McGuire’s, from 1p-4p.  If you knew Linda from her life in Chicago, please join us to raise a glass in her honor.  Donations may be given in Ms. Lyke’s name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida, 1020 N. Orlando Avenue, Suite 100, Maitland, FL  32751.
James Jordon 3/27/11
James A. Jordan, 81, retired Vice President of Broadcast Sales at TeleRep (a division of Cox Communications) and formerly of Metromedia, Inc., Korean War Vet, passed away peacefully after a brief illness March 21, 2011. Jim was known as a mentor to many up-and-coming broadcast executives, who have headed such media giants as Univision, Sony and Westinghouse. Beloved husband of 35 years to Kathleen T. Jordan; loving father of Kate Jordan and Nora Jordan of Evanston, David (partner Laura Opheim) Jordan of Chicago, and the late Rick Jordan; faithful companion of his canine; friends Cleo and Jack and many others. A celebration of his life is being planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Lambs Farm, 14245 W. Rockland Road Libertyville, IL 60048, or www.lambsfarm.org. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Illinois, 773-281-5058 or www.cremation-society.com.
